As I mentioned it in my previous post we have been on holiday in the beginning of October. That time I was writing about Badacsony, the small town on the bank of Balaton. During this trip our HQ was Sümeg, a city in western Hungary.
If there would not be a castle in the middle of the town there would be nothing to check in Sümeg. But there is the fortress on the top of the hill, a quite good one. They started to build it in the 14th century and made a great job, the castle was not conquered since then.
It's not a fancy, big place but was good enough for the bishop of Veszprém to move in when the Turkish army defeated his city. There are several bastions around the courtyard and a wing for the dignitaries was available when the fortress was operating.
Photography explanation:
During taking the photos of the 'knight show' I had to use the following settings:
1. wide shutter which gives more light but more shallow DOF (it is not a problem in this case because of the wide angles)
2. high shutter speed to avoid blurry pictures because of the movements but it caused under exposed photos
3. high ISO (in the sky) to compensate the shutter speed but it caused low quality and high noise unfortunately.
I will be back.
