This time we travel back in time a bit, back to the holiday in the beginning of October. I already told you stories about Badacsony and Sümeg but I didn't show you the third chapter of that short vacation. After our 3 days of spa we left Sümeg and started our way back to Budapest. We decided to have a longer trip and check two places I wanted to show to Aniuta for a long time already.
Tata is a small city, 70km far from Budapest in the north-west direction. The place was inhabited since prehistoric era and has a few interesting places to check out but this time we only visited the Old Lake. The lake is surrounded by a huge park, there is a small "castle" on it's bank, it would take around an hour or so to walk around. We were not that lucky with the weather so we had just a small trip on the side of the castle.
After a small coffee we jumped back to the car and started our trip toward Lake of Bokod which is an artificial water surface. It belongs to the thermal power plant next to it and it provides the cooling capacity for the facility. Because of the continuous heating by the plant the water never froze in the lake. It is a very popular weekend house and fishing area for the people living in the neighboring cities and villages. The weekend houses were built on wooden structures above the lake therefore it is also called as the "Floating village".
I'll be back.
