This time we travel back in time a bit, back to the holiday in the beginning of October. I already told you stories about Badacsony and Sümeg but I didn't show you the third chapter of that short vacation. After our 3 days of spa we left Sümeg and started our way back to Budapest. We decided to have a longer trip and check two places I wanted to show to Aniuta for a long time already.

Snow in the city
It seems that we will never have the same cold, snowy winters anymore in Budapest as we had in my childhood. I remember, that around the middle of November we were throwing snowballs and building snowmen twenty years ago... It is quite shocking to think about this... firs of all because I just realized how long time ago was that and on the other hand I started to act like a grandpa, thinking about the "good old times".
Whatever... getting back to the point it was snowing last week so I grabbed the camera and took some photos. I tried to capture the light, the clean air so I tried to make high-key like photos in Városliget.

Sümeg, the impregnable fortress
As I mentioned it in my previous post we have been on holiday in the beginning of October. That time I was writing about Badacsony, the small town on the bank of Balaton. During this trip our HQ was Sümeg, a city in western Hungary.

Holiday on the countriside: Badacsony
Me and Anuta took a few days off in the beginning of October to rest a bit after the last 3-4 months with full of works, thesis writing. We got a 3 days long wellness treatment in Sümeg, Hungary from my family so we just completed the package with a short get-to-know-Western-Hungary trip with a few stops. The first one was Badacsony which is a small town next to lake Balaton. It is famous of the wine production so we checked this.

Fall of 2015 is here
Today we had a small walk at Normafa, which is a popular place to get out of the city center here in Budapest. It got the name after a really old tree which was planted by a king long long time ago... well, the tree is not there anymore but the view is amazing especially if the air is as clear as it was today. It also provides lots of opportunities for families to hang out, for kids to play, for people to run or biking, during winter you also can skiing here on a very short slope.

Back to Budapest: Children's railway
We had a 4 days long holiday here in Budapest because of 20th of August which is our 'Foundation of the State' celebration like 4th of July in the U.S. If you visit Budapest around this date don't forget to check the fireworks at 9 pm on the bank of Danube, it's quite spectacular.
So back to our holiday and free time and a small break out of the city into the surrounding hills more specifically to Hűvösvölgy and the Children's railway.

Grey October
The sun was shining so bright on Sunday that it would be a crime to stay home and sit on the sofa. So I called a Friend of mine, Irma to grab her camera and invited her to a photowalk.
We met at Újpest-Városkapu and walked to Népsziget. Until we reached the island through the not used train bridge all of the lights were gone, everything was gray and plain which made our photo shooting a bit harder. I would like to collect more colorful autumn photo but I had no chance…

Phil and Rasputin – still-life from Margaret island
I’m on holiday. It feels very good, don’t really remember when was the last time I did nothing… especially for almost two weeks… A long time ago… So, I’m on my holiday and I have decided to take as many photos in this period as many I just can. I started it on Monday after we bought our morning coffee at Mad Dog Café. By the way IF you like fabulous coffee, cozy places and the friendliest service it is highly recommended to you to visit it!
I entered the island from north on Árpád-bridge because the renovated music fountain and Japanese garden were the most interesting to me.

Velence, Hungary
I have to catch up with myself… I have mentioned in my last post that there are some stories which I would like to share with you.
The next one is the tale of our short trip to Velence, Hungary. I think it would be the best if I tell you a little about the lake.

Lake Velence is the third largest lake in Hungary with its 26 km2 area. It is located near to Budapest and it can be easily approached by car or train. This map shows you the location of it. The lake is very shallow so the warmth of it is around 26-28 °C in the summer. Lake Velence is a popular beach and there is a cable wakeboard opportunity there as well.
And now let the story begin…

Colourful Advent
I met with my friends from indafoto on Thuesday. The meeting point was at Deák square (it is the core of the city) and we planned a short walk in the biggest and most famous Advent Market of Budapest.
After a short conversation and a cup of hot wine we started taking photos. I can not tell much about the event. I think everybody knows exactly the atmosphere of this kind of markets: the scent of mulled wine, fried sausage, scone and bugler cake mingle with the fragrance of incenses. I love the colours of the lights and gifts. Really exciting forms, lights, bokehs are there.
I finish the writing because the pictures are much more efficient to show you the feeling.

Me and some user from indafoto.hu had an excursion into the Pilis. It is a hill near to Budapest, Hungary. We had a wonderful weather and the lights were perfect for a group of photographer.
